What is Art Journaling?

Art journaling is very similar to writing in a journal about your thoughts, feelings, prayers, and ideas. In addition to using words, or in place of words, art journals use color, shape, line, and texture with art materials like watercolors, markers, gel pens, magazine photos, stamps, stencils, etc. No art background is necessary. All of us, being made in the image of God, have God’s creative nature. People often find art journaling relaxing and helpful in expressing themselves and being open to the Holy Spirit. Come and give it a try!

The Storehouse Art Studio will be open the fourth Saturday of every month 9:00-11:00 AM. We will start with the basics of art journaling. You can then work in the journal at home. Each month we will learn a new way to interact with our art journals. Bring a journal with black pages and all the other art materials will be provided. Wire-bound books with watercolor paper are best. You can find inexpensive journals at Five Below or Michaels. The Art Studio is located on the second floor of the Manor House.
