Our Beliefs

Our Mission

Our mission is to lead people to KNOW God personally, GROW in their relationship with Jesus Christ, and GO in ministry.

We Believe

God

We believe in One Living God in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

The Scriptures

We believe in the authority of God’s Word over our lives.

Salvation

We Believe that new life in Christ, free from the guilt and penalty of sin, is given to all who believe.

The Church

We Believe in The Church. The people of God, who exist to fulfill the purposes of God in Christ.

Our Values

an identity informed by JESUS and HIS WORD.
We value Jesus and our true identity is found wholly in Him. There is nothing we can do to make Him love us more, there is nothing we can do to make Him love us less. We belong entirely to Him. We recognize that the world would have us root ourselves in accomplishments, accolades, and success but we know first and foremost we are loved sons and daughters.
Because of this we practice abiding in the Spirit. We intentionally stay connected to Jesus in all we do; work, live, play, and rest. We allow His Word and the person of Jesus to inform our worldview and view of ourselves.

Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
John 15:4

a community that asks QUESTIONS
This is a safe place for the spiritually curious. We value conversation and question asking. We want people to be able to ask their questions and express their doubts. We value having conversation wherever you are in your faith journey. No question too big or small.
Because of this value having platforms such as Alpha (part of the discipleship pathway) which actively encourages the exploration of the Christian faith and verbalizing questions.

John’s two disciples found Jesus and said to him, “John the Baptist sent us to ask, ‘Are you the Messiah we’ve been expecting, or should we keep looking for someone else?’”
Luke 7:20

a journey of GROWTH.
We value the journey of becoming more like Jesus. We take discipleship seriously which means we are intentional about living our lives in line with the way of Jesus; including the way He loved self-sacrificially, cared for the marginalized, practiced radical forgiveness, and did all things connected to the Father.
Because of this we practice a learning posture. We are students of Jesus; continually listening, confessing, repenting, and learning at the feet of our teacher and from one another in community. We elevate learning environments such as Emotionally Healthy Spirituality (part of the Discipleship Pathway) which encourages self-awareness and increased dependence on the Spirit.

So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.
Ephesians 4:11-16

a knowledge that we are better together, COMMUNITY.
We value learning together, having fun together, and worshiping together.  We encourage everyone to come as they are, real with themselves, God, and each other. Authenticity is the way of community.  We also know we need each other; as we are all created with different giftings, different facets of the beauty of God.  We are an intergenerational, multi-ethnic, diversely gifted community following Jesus Christ.  We believe Christ is best embodied when the diversity of the body becomes one as they learn to love one another well through the example of Jesus Christ.  All of this said, community can be difficult.  We actively elevate learning environments to increase our ability to love one another well and walk out conflict in a healthy way such as Emotionally Healthy Relationships.

Because of our commitment to community we practice fun and forgiveness.

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another — and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Hebrews 10:25-27

a greater Kingdom impact found in PARTNERSHIP.
We recognize that we are part of something bigger.  We are not an island and so we function in partnership with other churches as well as other organizations to make a greater impact for the Kingdom.  This is not about us but about what we can do together.

disciples committed to ACTION.
We are sent as reconcilers of all of God’s creation to Himself. We have a purpose and a call on our lives. We are not consumers of God’s grace, but distributors of it. We are translators of the Kingdom here on earth. A sent people is a collection of sent individuals carrying His love and truth into the world.
Because of this we practice reconciliation, hospitality, blessing, and conversations that point to Jesus. We purposely teach and equip our community to see themselves as #sent in their neighborhoods, places of employment, schools, etc. We elevate learning environments like the Sent Lab (part of the discipleship pathway) which gives tools to share the Gospel in everyday life.

On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord.
Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.”
John 20:19-23
